I uploaded a zip file to Mediafire (a filesharing site) and sent you the link via PM.Orca wrote:I'm getting an 'Unknown error' when I try to save or open the attachment. It only displays as 64 B in size, too.

By the way, it would be easier for me to give out people's trn files by uploading a folder containing all of them, then posting the link. This would compromise security somewhat, since it would be possible for people to look at each other's trn files. Thoughts?
I'd say avoid it. I pretty much trust everyone not to cheat, but there will always be the suspicion when someone gets lucky or clever.

I was able to get that file from Mediafire & sent a turn file back via email.
On the basis that email has failed me once already, I'd prefer the folder of files option. If everyone will agree not to peek (without explicit permission of the person whose turn file it is) I think we'll be OK.
I agree to my condition above, of course.

My pretender is passworded. I have deliberately used a disposable password for reasons that will become clear.
I have no intention of looking at others turns DURING game play, but I wouldn't mind mooching the better players turns at the end, and if they have used a disposable password, going through their game after it's done and dusted.
Happy to extend the same offer to mine of course.

Let me tell you something about Soulforger, The Burning Soul, Lord of Forges. Every year, he makes a list with every pretender god in The Realm of Many Tomatoes on it, and then he figures out whether each one has been naughty or nice. He waits until the darkest hour of Winter, when he and his crew of Gnome Gninjas sneak into the treasuries of all the good pretenders through the completely innocuous standard-issue blast furnaces and leave them presents. Naughty pretenders get a lump of coal if they're lucky.
Do you get what I'm saying?

Hmm. Sounds nifty. I'll check it out, thanks.cthulhu wrote:Your the host, it was just a suggestion ;P
It has the advantage of managing the turn submission and mailing process for you.
EDIT:
Thank you. I'll try to do that.angelfromanotherpin wrote:Resent from gmail again. Probably best if you just send my turns through that account from now on.

I genuinely don't know what that would be about unless K patched his laptop from my backups and forgot to reset his CD key. Again.Avoraciopoctules wrote:I advanced the turn to 2, but another problem cropped up. CD key violations for Vanheim and Pangaea. Akula and I are using the same CD key, so Vanheim is explained.

Yeah, it just frees you of some overhead of management. I imagine the management overhead here would taper off as time goes by, but I imagine anything is good.Avoraciopoctules wrote:Hmm. Sounds nifty. I'll check it out, thanks.cthulhu wrote:Your the host, it was just a suggestion ;P

Looks like 1 vote to 1 on the filesharing front, so I'm going to go with what's fast and easy.
Turn 2 files:

-----------
Akula expressed an inclination to go AI over the phone. That might solve one half of the CD key problems. There is also the fact that Frank has copy protection up in his grill, and I am not sure how dodgeable it is. I figure we should delay turn 3 until he and K have figured out whether they have a CD key conflict and whether something can be done about it.

Oh, even better. I patched from old back-ups on a memory stick which used your CD key. And my manual was 6 inches from my laptop and open to the CD key page.FrankTrollman wrote:I genuinely don't know what that would be about unless K patched his laptop from my backups and forgot to reset his CD key. So that's fixed. Should I resent my turn 1, or should we move on to turn 2?

We've moved onto turn two, although I wouldn't mind replaying turn 1.
I'm done with turn 2, and have sent it in. Also, apparently unrest reduction from patrolling involves an opposed DRN check.

Do you want everyone else to skip turn 3 to sort-of balance things out?FrankTrollman wrote:Yeah, I had zero orders processed on turn 1 for some reason. That's... survivable... barely. But obviously if that continues to happen I cannot play.

Mac user here. I had to download freeware to unpack RAR files. And that event's annoying, but I wouldn't really call it super bad unless it cursed a commander. Do you have luck 3 scales or something?
